Last month, on November 9th and 10th, a Hologic Horizon™ DXA system was successfully installed in our Diagnostic Imaging department, replacing the Bone Density unit that had served us well for several years. Hologic’s new Horizon DXA System generates clear, high-resolution images needed to accurately assess bone density, fracture risk, body composition. This in turn will allow physicians to make informed diagnoses and treatment decisions with even greater confidence!
The Hologic Horizon™ DXA system is the only system capable of assessing three major health concerns:
- Osteoporosis
- Body composition
- Cardiovascular risk
Currently at Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre, our Diagnostic Imaging team focuses on the assessment of osteoporosis and body composition when requested by a physician.
