Ultrasound is used to help diagnose the causes of pain, swelling and infection in the body’s internal organs and to examine babies in pregnant women. It’s also used to visualise internal organs during biopsies. Ultrasound is safe, noninvasive, and does not use ionizing radiation.
Ultrasound imaging uses sound waves to produce pictures of the inside of the body.
Doctor referrals are required for these appointments. Speak with your physician about making an appointment at Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre.
Cost of this service
Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre’s ultrasound services are 100% covered by insurance, there is no co-pay. If you are currently uninsured your costs may be covered by our Equal Access Fund, call 236-1001 for more information.
