Event Information
Summer day camps offer unforgettable fun, learning, and outdoor adventure. But with long hours outside, children are also exposed to significant sun exposure. Without proper protection, this can lead to sunburn, long-term skin damage, and an increased risk of skin cancer later in life.
The SunSmart Camp Accreditation Programme from Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre helps camp organisers create a safer outdoor environment for children while building lifelong sun-safe habits.
The first step to becoming accredited is to register your camp and attend a short training session.
Training Sessions
All sessions take place at Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre and begin at 5:30 pm.
Choose one of the following dates:
-
Tuesday, June 18
-
Wednesday, June 23
-
Thursday, June 26
These sessions will guide camp leaders through practical sun protection strategies and the steps required to achieve SunSmart Accreditation.
Registration
Registration for the 2026 SunSmart Camp Accreditation Programme opens April 1 and closes June 12.
Camps must register and attend one of the training sessions to begin the accreditation process.
