More Information

What is the World Cancer Declaration?

Did you know that cancer kills more people than AIDS, Malaria and TB combined!

And without significant improvements – preventable and curable cancers will continue to kill millions of people worldwide.

The Declaration is a tool to help bring the growing cancer crisis to the attention of government leaders and policymakers in order to significantly reduce the global cancer burden by 2020.

It represents a consensus between government officials, public health experts and cancer advocates from around the world who are committed to eliminating cancer as a life-threatening disease for future generations.

Our goal is to gather 1 million supporters for a Cancer Free World- we will present this support to the world’s leaders at the first UN Summit for Non -Communicable Diseases (NCD’s) in September 2011.

Why is this important?
There has been only one UN General Assembly Special Session focused on health since 1947; the announcement of the 2011 summit is an unprecedented step in the battle against cancer and represents an opportunity to eliminate it as a life-threatening disease for future generations.

What can you do to help?
In one easy step you can make a difference! By signing the Declaration you join a worldwide community calling on key decision makers to reduce the global cancer burden.

Together we are Stronger!
On World Cancer Day we are urging you to take action and sign the Declaration!
