Event Information
Luminarias honour every life touched by cancer. You can dedicate them to a loved one lost, someone currently battling, or anyone who’s overcome it. At Relay For Life events, you’ll see the Luminarias decorated with names and sometimes messages to the people they’re dedicated to.
After dark, Relay participants share an emotional moment when each Luminaria is lit in remembrance of a life touched by cancer. Together, we take a moment of silence to remember the loved ones they’re dedicated to. When you make a donation for a Luminaria it helps fund Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre’s mission, providing access to prevention programmes, early detection and radiation treatment for all.

2021 Luminaria
We aim to host a drive thru luminaria display on May 14, to remember cancer survivors, we have lost and honour survivors still on their cancer journey, the caregivers and cancer support services.
How you can participate:
- Buy a luminaria bag online and have volunteers decorate it for you
- Request a package of luminaria these can be shared among friends and family - collect funds, decorate, return on one of the dates below.
- Keep an eye out as we release details on how you can view the luminaria display on May 14 at 9pm, details will be announced by April 30th.
Ceremony
A live rememberance ceremony will be aired via Facebook live at 9pm may 14th.
Drive-thru experience
Starting at 9pm on May 14th, for approx. 45 minute, enter Botanical Gardens from the South Shore gate across from the Peace lutheran Church.
Volunteers will help direct traffic. Please drive slowly, once you enter the luminaria area you will be asked to dim your headlights to your parking lights. Remain in your vehicle and if speaking with a volunteer we ask that you wear a mask.
