Cancer Information Service

For 2010 Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre have made a renewed commitment to improving the quality of life of recently diagnosed cancer patients, survivors and their families. All funds raised from this year’s event will go towards setting up a high quality Cancer Support Information Service – a much needed support mechanism staffed by Information Specialists who will take time to answer questions in clear understandable terms and search for information needed on all types of cancer, treatments, and side effects.

15 year old Missy Thompson to Climb Mount Kilimanjaro to fight Breast Cancer

In the words of Missy: On the 7th of April I will be attempting to do one of the biggest things I will ever attempt to do in life. Climb Mount Kilimanjaro.  When I was just
four years old my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, so therefore I
thought it would be suitable to raise money for an extremely good cause which
would benefit those others who were affected or suffering with this horrible
disease.  The climb will take 7 days and on the last day I will be at 19,334
ft in the air!  I am both excited and nervous to put my best efforts forward
to attempt this big challenge in aid of others.  If you would like to donate
please send your donation to the Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre, or visit my
just giving page http://www.justgiving.com/Missy-Thompson

We would like to wish Lorraine Lucas the best of luck for The Ride to Conquer Cancer benefiting The Princess Margaret, which is a cycling journey from Toronto to the Niagara Falls to raise funds to fight cancer taking place June 2010.  Please follow Lorraine's link for further information or to make a donation.
