He had a solid, malignant tumor the size of a grapefruit in his abdomen and it was crushing his liver.

The cancer cells had spread through most of his body – including his bone marrow.  We were flown to Boston where Aejay spent the next year going through 12 rounds of chemotherapy and 2 major tumor resection surgeries.

His first Christmas was spent in ICU because of a dangerous infection.  Throughout the whole process, Aejay was a happy, outgoing baby.  We lived at the Ronald McDonald House in Boston which provides low-cost housing for the families of kids being treated for cancer. It became our second home.

Today, he is 7 years old and 5 years cancer free and living a happy, energetic childhood.  Meeting him, you would never guess what he’s been through.
