Dr Eric Woods

Eric WoodsIn many respects, Dr. Eric Woods was following in the footsteps of his father, an admired and respected radiologist, when he decided to enter medicine. Dr. Woods went on to obtain his medical degree and complete a diagnostic radiology residency at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

In 1990, he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Not long after, he finished a fellowship in breast imaging at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor – and went on to work as a staff radiologist there. He saw breast imaging as an emerging, yet challenging field; one that would provide him with opportunities to make a real contribution to the reduction of breast cancer mortality rates.

For the last 25 years,Dr. Woods has practiced as a full-time radiologist at the Yarmouth Regional Health Center in Nova Scotia. His diagnostic imaging practice has focused on all aspects of breast imaging. The most rewarding part? Spotting early stage breast cancers and later being able to tell a patient their disease is curable. He is excited to join the team at Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre and looks forward to serving as the lead physician in the introduction of the first digital breast tomosynthesis service on the Island.
